Yoonseo Oh Violin

Born in 1998, Yoonseo Oh is a South Korean violinist based in London. A scholarship student to both the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (Undergraduate, Bachelor of Music) and the Royal Academy of Music (Postgraduate, Master of Arts), Yoon has studied with eminent teachers such as Philippe Honoré and Maya Iwabuchi. In addition to her degrees, Yoon graduated the RCS with a Music Education Endorsement and the Royal Academy of Music with an LRAM (Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music).

Yoon has worked alongside distinguished artists and ensembles such as Nicola Benedetti, Thomas Søndergård, Ludovic Morlot, Alice Farnham, John Wilson, Semyon Bychkov, and the Brodsky Quartet, as well as the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Scottish Ensemble. She has co-led the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland and performed for HRH King Charles at Buckingham Palace. Yoon has also contributed as a session musician to blockbuster soundtracks contracted by Hilary Skewes at Air Studios Lyndhurst Hall. As a freelance musician, Yoon values opportunities to perform in diverse settings, including her recent performance at Resorts World Arena, National Exhibition Centre for the ESL One Dota 2 final opening with OneOrchestra.

As an educator, Yoon currently works as a visiting violin and piano teacher at St Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School in addition to providing private lessons to numerous piano and violin students. She also enjoys working with Mini Mozart, leading music workshops for babies and toddlers. Since 2023, Yoon has been an instrumental ambassador for the Benedetti Foundation.
