Munjung Heo Violin
Munjung Heo, a South Korea-born violinist, is currently studying a Bachelor of Music Honours under the mentorship of Professor Jack Liebeck at the Royal Academy of Music.
Munjung is actively engaged in various musical pursuits, leading as the first violinist of Meraki Quartet, and contributing to the Royal Academy of Music Orchestra alongside conductors Edward Gardner and John Wilson. She recently had a tour with soloist Joshua Bell as a guest violinist of the New Era Orchestra in Europe and the USA. Munjung has deepened her understanding and knowledge through masterclasses from esteemed musicians, Pierre Amoyal, Hagai Shaham, Aleksey Semenenko, and many more.
Meraki Quartet has had grateful opportunities, including the CAVATINA Intercollegiate Chamber Music Competition at Wigmore Hall in 2023 and acceptance to The Schiermonnikoog Festival in March 2024. The quartet has also been offered regular coachings and concerts by the Netherlands String Quartet Academy from Marc Danel for further enriching their musical journey.
Furthermore, Munjung is also committed to music education. Meraki Quartet had a collaborative project, the "For Crying Out Loud" 2023-24 concert series at Wigmore Hall. As well as the Benedetti Foundation Ambassador of 2024, she undertook the Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music (LRAM) program to enhance her teaching skills and techniques, recognizing the vital role of educators in nurturing the next generation of musicians.
Through her multifaceted musical journey, Munjung continues to embody passion, dedication, and excellence in her pursuit of musical mastery and education as she believes music is a universal language.
