Karen began her career as a bassoonist, performing as a soloist and orchestral musician across the UK and internationally, before moving her focus to the field of music education. Karen works for the National Youth Choir of Scotland, teaching in nurseries and schools across a number of local authorities, alongside providing training for nursery and primary teachers in the Kodály approach. Karen is also a musicianship lecturer at the Junior Department of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and the RSNO Junior Chorus
