Jennifer Moss Clarinet
As a musician, Jennifer Moss is inspired by how music creates opportunities for people to express themselves, and fulfil the need to be seen and heard. Jennifer has received training on community music-making from the Benedetti Foundation, for whom she is a Creative Learning Ambassador, and as part of her recent Fellowship with the Nevis Ensemble.
As a performer, Jennifer believes in breaking down the fourth wall between audience and artists in order to create inclusive spaces through music-making. This has involved performing as a clarinettist in community music projects with the Lammermuir Festival Orchestra, the Glasgow Barons, Puppet Animation Scotland, and the Nevis Ensemble. Jennifer is an active chamber musician on the Scottish music scene, and performs as the bass clarinettist for the Silver Keys clarinet quartet, and as one-half of the Pancevski Duo with cellist Peter Phelan.
As an educator, Jennifer takes the responsibility of creating accessible and inclusive opportunities to learn seriously. She is proud to work with Awards for Young Musicians as a mentor on their Furthering Talent programme, and also coordinates the bi-annual Young People’s Programme Panel. Jennifer also held the position of Clarinet Teaching Artist for In Harmony Opera North, where she delivered group wind lessons, and musicianship classes for young children, and children with SEN.
Jennifer has a love of song and poem-writing, and is currently exploring incorporating these disciplines into her musical activities.
