Hannah de Bordes Violin

Hannah is a violinist and songwriter from Aberdeen, Scotland. She is currently studying for her Masters degree in Violin performance at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester with Professor Pavel Fischer.

Alongside her interests in Classical music, Hannah is also passionate about exploring music of different genres including Klezmer, Scottish traditional music, and jazz. As a songwriter, she loves to write songs where she experiments with this. Additionally, she loves to improvise on violin in the worship band at her Church and is very passionate about keeping her Christian faith at the centre of her music making.

Her recent performances include a debut performance with her group ‘Quartet Tesni’ at the Bridgewater Hall as a pre-concert performance for the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. Their programme was folk influenced, including the ‘Mad Piper Quartet’ composed by Pavel Fischer. Orchestrally, she looks forward to performing with the Liverpool Philharmonic alongside virtuoso Harmonica player Will Pound and Percussionist Delia Stevens. They will perform a folk-inspired improvisation based on The Planets by Holst.

Hannah has been an Ambassador for the Benedetti Sessions since 2019 and loves to share the joys of music making with others.
