Erin Vinter Viola
Erin is a violist from Nottingham, about to enter her fourth year at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire where she currently studies with Lucy Nolan. Erin has a keen interest in chamber and orchestral music and has most recently been performing across the Midlands with the International Film Orchestra, as a guest violist with the Gildas Quartet in October 2023 and April 2024 and as a soloist in the inaugural concert of the Trent Chamber Orchestra. Erin spent many years playing with the Oasby Music Group in Lincolnshire, led by the Foundation’s director and Erin’s teacher for many years, Laura Gardiner, and has won many awards for chamber music at the Grantham Music Festival. Erin played in the launch concert for the Benedetti Foundation as well as Nicola Benedetti’s Decca Classics recording of Mascagni’s Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana. She has been an Ambassador for the Benedetti Foundation since February 2023 and is therefore excited to be in her second year of the programme. She gained a place on the CBSO Training Scheme for the 2023-24 season, and is this year's RBC representative for the British Viola Society. She plays on a viola made by Antoine Gourdon, and is grateful to the Wolfson Foundation for their generous support with her studies.
