Emily Brooks Violin
Emily Brooks is a 23 year old musician based in Cardiff, originally from North Devon. Her interest in the violin was sparked aged 4 when she played a busker’s violin outside the Sydney Opera House while on holiday. She began lessons aged 7. In addition to the violin, Emily plays the viola, piano, guitar, viola da gamba and sings.
Emily particularly enjoys collaborative performance and has performed in a variety of groups and locations, from classical chamber groups and orchestras to grassroots and independent festivals. Currently, Emily plays for the band ‘Noon Wolf’ and manages ‘Orchestra of the Vale’. She is excited to lead the ensemble for the musical ‘Little Women’ in June 2024.
Recent notable performances include ‘The Spectacular Music of Harry Potter’ with the International Film Orchestra and an Opera Double Bill under the baton of Carlo Rizzi.
Emily recently completed a BMus (Hons) Music Performance, where she refined skills in solo, chamber and orchestral performance alongside orchestral management, composition, music theory, workshop leading and teaching.
Alongside music, Emily is a dedicated Early Years Practitioner, using music and creativity to facilitate learning and expression. She strives to share music with as many people as possible, inviting others to explore and learn music. As an educator, she is dedicated to supporting transferable skill development through music engagement, in fun and safe learning environments.
Emily is thrilled to be a 2024 Benedetti Foundation Creative Learning Ambassador and use this opportunity to continue to share a love of music with others.
