Eliza Talman Trumpet

Eliza Talman is a freelance musician who hasn’t yet narrowed down her portfolio to within the word limit. As a trumpet player she has regularly performed as a soloist in Somerset and London, founded and performs with the Solis Trio - winning the Musicians Company prize in 2020, she is in a duet with her percussionist brother Stan, as well as working as an orchestral musician - notably with Southbank Sinfonia. She also plays the Natural Trumpet both in chamber orchestras and as a soloist, performing in the Salisbury Baroque.

Eliza was a member of the National Youth Orchestra where she took part in Learning and Education and has since worked for NYO as a creative leader. She also works regularly with the Musicians Company in London, and with Solis Trio, working in schools, leading one-off workshops with the students.

As a child, Eliza took part in the Jackdaws Music Education Trust projects and in 2021, she was appointed as a trustee, regularly conducting sessions with young musicians. Before she graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in 2024, she took part in the Open Academy elective where she led workshops in hospitals, nurseries and in the City Lit Percussion orchestra. She has also been teaching 1-1 since 2018 and is a part of the Camden Music Hub.

Eliza is keen to develop a range of creative abilities and works as an actor and musician as well, working in the annual Christmas show at the Lyric Hammersmith.
