Carmela Feoli Chacon Violin
Carmela Feoli Chacón is a multifaceted artist from Costa Rica, currently in her final year of Violin Performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, studying under Prof. Andrea Gajic and Francis Cummings.
Carmela began her musical journey at a young age, spending much of her childhood at the Sistema Nacional de Educación Musical. She advanced her training through the pre-university program at the University of Costa Rica, where she studied with Prof. Guido Calvo. In 2019, she moved to Boston to continue her violin studies with Prof. Saul Bitran, the first violinist of Cuarteto Latinoamericano and associate professor at the Boston Conservatory.
Her orchestral highlights include performing with the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, the New England Conservatory Summer Orchestra Institute, and participating in a side-by-side with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. She has also played with the University of Costa Rica’s Symphony Orchestra and the RCS Symphony Orchestra, on both violin and viola.
Passionate about music education, Carmela has been involved with the Music Inclusion Program in Boston, Drake Music Scotland, and has conducted primary school music workshops and placements with Sistema Scotland (Big Noise). She joined the Benedetti Foundation Ambassador Programme in 2023 and is currently a Lead Ambassador, enhancing her skills in instrumental teaching and leadership when assisting in the mentor sessions. She is looking forward to beginning her Master’s in Music Education with an Autism Concentration at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, this upcoming autumn.
Beyond music, Carmela enjoys singing, ballet, and Latin dancing.
