Amanda Currie
Workshop Leader
Amanda is an enthusiastic teacher, performer and session musician based in Inverclyde on the West Coast of Scotland. She completed her undergraduate degree in classical music at Edinburgh Napier University as a clarinettist and is a second study violinist. Since 2011, Amanda has worked and regularly performed with the Tinderbox Orchestra, who are a collective of young people, musicians, artists and youth workers based in Edinburgh. She has performed with Tinderbox all over Scotland, at Celtic Connections, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and on the BBC Introducing stage at Latitude Festival.
Amanda is currently working as the Youth Music Initiative practitioner for Inverclyde Council, where she delivers exciting music workshops to primary pupils across all 20 Primary Schools in the authority. She also tutors at the Inverclyde Senior Wind Orchestra and teaches one-to-one clarinet lessons at the Inverclyde Music Centre.
