Alice Beadle Violin
Alice Beadle is a violinist and multi instrumentalist from the UK who recently graduated from Kings College London, studying violin with Laura Rickard. She takes a multifaceted approach to music, exploring both classical, folk and experimental styles. Sheis a member of Goblin Band, a folk ensemble who released their debut EP in May, and have gained reviews in the Guardian, Folk London, and Tradfolk. The group perform across the UK, notably Moth Club (Hackney) and Band on the Wall (Manchester). Alice alsoleads The Beading, a folk trio that explores traditional tunes from the medieval period to 17th century broadsides and their own compositions. Their intricate arrangement emphasise the importance of storytelling and historically informed research that inspires them in new directions. They recently performed at Sidmouth folk festival and at Lost in the Hills festival. Alice is a committed orchestra player. She performs across London including with Pegasus Opera Company and Hapax orchestra’s Silent Cinema. A recent highlight was performing in the Oxford Maqam Big Band, reviving charts performed by 1950s Egyptian singer Abdel Halim Hafez. She is equally at home in theatrical settings, compositing music for Explore the Arch play 'Spirited', and performing with Maria Macateer in Shout London and Shout Liverpool festivals.Alice is dedicated to learning and participation work. She works with Lewisham Music delivering weekly individual lessons, and working in schools to deliver group violin and musicianship workshops to up to 30 primary age children. She is also teaches privately, and enjoys working with Adult beginners on developing their confidence with music. She is delighted to be a creative Ambassador for the Benedetti Foundation this year and to take advantage of the wonderful training to develop her teaching and musicianship
